A computer engineer from Nepal, building AI systems that are not just powerful, but interpretable.
I'm Sandesh Pokharel, a final-year Computer Engineering student at Tribhuvan University's Institute of Engineering, Purwanchal Campus in Dharan, Nepal. My academic journey has been shaped by a deep curiosity for how machines understand language and images.
My major project sits at the intersection of NLP and Explainable AI, building a hybrid classification system that distinguishes between human-authored and AI-generated Nepali text. This work addresses a real gap: most AI detection tools are built for high-resource languages, leaving communities like Nepal's digital ecosystem underserved.
I believe the most meaningful AI isn't just accurate, it's transparent. When a model makes a decision, people deserve to understand why.
